The 1 day EFAW course is ideal for staff working in low risk environments that present very few hazards.
The course content includes: first aid regulations, managing an incident, priorities of first aid, adult CPR, how to use an AED, treatment for choking, treatment of an unconsciouss casualty, treatment for seizures, treatment of wounds and bleeding, treatment for shock, minor injuries.
Employers should make an assessment of first-aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of the workplace to determine the number of staff required to be qualified in Emergency First Aid at Work. In some circumstances staff may require the 3 day First Aid at Work course depending on a number of factors such as hazards identified, staff medical conditions or number of employees to name a few.
