Because even though modern public access defibrillators are designed and manufactured so that every first responder can use them, no matter what their level of training – having firsthand knowledge and training can only improve the quality of care provided to the patient.

This means that you are providing the cardiac arrest patient with the greatest chance of survival in the crucial minutes following a cardiac event. If treatment is administered within 3-5 minutes within the incident, survival chances increase from 6% to 74%.
